About

Deanna is a sound designer specializing in film, podcast, and game audio. With a foundation in studio recording and music production, she's developed a seven-year love-hate relationship with Avid Pro Tools and can hear what a scene is missing before anyone says it out loud. She gravitates toward the uncanny and surreal, layering field recordings with synthesis to create soundscapes that live somewhere between the organic and the otherworldly. Whether it's the metallic shriek of an apparition or the resonant hum inside a celestial portal, she's here for it—translating imagined worlds into visceral sonic experiences that pull listeners deeper into the story.
Deanna built that instinct over years in the studio.
She spent six months in Nashville treating every studio like a masterclass she wasn't supposed to be in. She assisted Dolly Parton, camped out at Blackbird Studios, Starstruck Studios, Sound Stage, LOUD Recording, and Curb Studios, and absorbed everything—mic placement secrets whispered between takes, the way a room changes a snare, how engineers move when they're not thinking about it. She finished her degree in Music and Sound Recording back in New Haven, but Nashville rewired her brain. Now based just outside NYC, she's spent four years becoming the engineer indie artists, singer-songwriters, and hardcore bands call when they want someone who listens—to the song, to the room, to what isn't being said. She knows the difference between a mix that's technically perfect and one that makes your chest hurt.
Deanna is currently on staff at The Koop Studio in Irvington, NY, and Oktaven Audio in Mount Vernon, NY.
